See What's Going on

The Life of our little BRYCE

Sunday, October 28, 2007

Bryce was eating goldfish the other day in his high chair. Like all children do...he stuffed about 10 of them in his mouth at one time and started choking. I stuck my finger in his mouth to swipe them all out and sat them on the tray of his high chair. Then, faster than I could blink he was scooping the regurgitated goldfish back into his mouth with a big smile on his face. As you can see in the picture below I didn't clean him up until after I got my photo!

Bryce's new nickname is "The Animal." He is easily frustrated as he tries so hard to do things like climb the stairs, stand in the bathtub, play with mommy's cell phone or the remote control, only to have everything taken away from him. Doesn't he just look like a trouble maker in that hat!!

Now, this is what I saw today as I was coming down our stairs. Bryce having the time of his life throwing shoes every which way out of our shoe basket. No matter how big of a mess this made I would have just let him do it because he entertained himself with this for quite awhile. Notice the grin he is giving me as I am taking the pictures. He definitely knows exactly what he is doing!!

Growing up before our eyes

Thursday, October 18, 2007

This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago after Maci's dance class performed at her dance teacher's ward talent show. I wanted to post this picture because as I was looking at it I noticed that Maci is one of the smaller girls...well, I guess right in the middle height wise. (She is also the youngest one too.) From the day she was born Maci has always been basically the tallest of her friends and a little chubby. She was taller than children who were two years older than her even. I know at this stage children don't grow as fast as they used to, but until I really looked at this picture and was able to see her next to these other girls I didn't realize that she wasn't as tall anymore....and definitely not so chubby. One thing I DO notice is that she is definitely quickly growing up before our eyes!!!!

Pumpkin Patch

Monday, October 15, 2007

On Saturday we FINALLY had PERFECT weather so we headed out to the Big Orange Pumpkin Patch. We fed animals, went on a hayride, ate hot dogs (Bryce had his first bite of hot dog today), and played in the pumpkin patch. I know a lot of people like to dress up their kids and go take pictures at pumpkin patches. I thought about this for a brief second yesterday and decided against it. Then there was a family on our hayride whose children were all dressed up (too dressed up for a pumpkin patch) and this poor little boy had on the cheesiest, girliest, Halloween romper I have ever seen. (His poor mom will never be forgiven for this when the little boy is old enough to know better.) Then we saw them again later amidst the pumpkins and they were very seriously posing the children and taking pictures. The children were not cooperative and the youngster (named Bowman, we know this because they kept yelling his name on both the hay ride and taking pictures) kept on trying to run to this house to play and his mom kept on chasing after him. I am so glad we decided to avoid the hassle of pictures and just have FUN!!!

Helping Dad ........

Saturday was such a nice day that I decided that Maci and Bryce would love to help Joey do some yard work. So, I put the pack-and-play out in the front yard and stocked it with toys for Bryce. He had tons of fun watching Joey and watching everything else going on. Maci had tons of fun doing all kinds of things too. Eventually though, she ended up in the pack-and-play playing with Bryce. I cleaned a little inside and then relaxed.

Oh yeah, did you notice our awesome Halloween decorations.

I can't believe I did it....It's the best thing EVER!!!!

We now have a cleaning lady come once a month. It's actually more like a "crew" of cleaners and they are WONDERFUL!! They accomplished what I could never do myself.....clean this whole darn house from top to bottom....bathrooms, mop, vacuuming, window sills, banister, toilets, laundry room, etc. Joey was out of town for the blessed event, but when he got home the next day he paused at the top of the stairs overlooking the "sparkling" downstairs and said, " This is the best hundred dollars we've ever spent!" And I can't agree more!!!

Ferris Wheel + Fried Cookie Dough + Boys II Men = TEXAS STATE FAIR

Saturday, October 06, 2007

I don't even know where to start on our day at the Texas State Fair last Saturday. Basically, anything you can dream up they have at the fair. Especially when it comes to fried food. They had fried cheesecake, fried cookie dough, fried latte, fried coke, fried turkey and fried Okra to name a few. Joey sampled the fried turkey for lunch and it tasted like bacon...Bryce liked it too. Noone was brave enough to try anything else.

We started out the day at the Pee Wee Rodeo Stampede. Maci and her cousin Charlie competed....well, sort of. Let's just say they were both a little shy.

Maci also got to "help on the farm." They had the cutest exhibit where children were able to put on an apron and carry a basket and see what life on the farm is like. Some of the things she did here was feed pretend chickens, milk a pretend cow, plant pretend seeds and pick pretend vegetables, and drive a little tractor. It was my favorite part of the fair.

There was also a Boys II Men concert in the middle of the day. It was fun, but we didn't stay long because we were standing in the sun and it was HOT.

We were at the fair all day long and there was so much to do that when we were finally ready to go we realized that we hadn't even been on a ride yet. So, we all got on the ferris wheel together to end our long day at the fair.
